Positive: The central location and rooms, I stayed twice in Room #1 & #5. The hostal has a gated access to the front door which is very secure. For those with a vehicle there is gated off-road parking for approx. 4 cars. Lovely communal area with continuous hot water supply, tea and coffee, and a sheltered balcony to watch the sunset from. Philip (my spelling) works the front desk and speaks good English. He is super helpful! I came back after 5 days backpacking from the Cerro Castillo NP traverse. They had securely held my extra baggage and then allowed me to use the car park to dry and clean my tent. Absolutely brilliant!

Negative: The hostal is located at a junction on a busy road, so expect some noise. I wear ear plugs so no issue.

Summary: Attentive staff, excellent rooms; a great place to spend time in Coyhaique.
