Dive into the magic of the forest and enjoy the comfort of Casa Juçara. The ideal option for disconnecting from routine (and screens), connecting with nature and with yourself. The glass house in the middle of the jungle and the BBQ overlooking the sea will be your venue for this experience. With the beaches of Matadeiro, Açores, Lagoinha do Leste, trails, dunes, waterfalls and the famous cuisine of Pântano do Sul less than 5 km away, your vacation here will be unforgettable.
Our house is perfect for couples and families with up to 2 children. It was built with our own hands, one board at a time, with reforested and demolition wood. Our ecological house has biodigesters and is supplied with pure, additive-free water from the nearby waterfall.
The house:
- Master bedroom, on the mezzanine, with queen bed with high quality mattress and a workspace. Cotton bed sheets, bath towels and clothes iron are provided.
- Integrated dining room and kitchen, complete with 4-burner stove, gas oven, fridge, espresso coffee machine, airfrier, microwave, sandwich maker, mixer and electric kettle. Charming dinnerware and antique kitchen itens make the meals at the house an unique experience. There's a clay filter with triple filter element for those who want to drink pure water.
- Living room with comfortable double sofa bed (futon), optional screen to separate the room and large windows with curtains.
- Bathroom equipped with a balanced mix of old and new, with vintage countertops, modern ceramics and a high-standard electric shower. Hair dryer is provided.
- Balcony with eating table and hammock, all overlooking the stream with sounds of running water and the jungle.
The house is fully air-conditioned with powerful hot and cold air conditioning.
It is located in the middle of the forest, with no other houses in the vicinity. Even so, we have strategic curtains in the sleeping areas, which further enhance guests' privacy.
Outside area:
- Barbecue overlooking the sea, table for up to 8 people, hammock, washing machine, beach chairs and umbrella are available for guests use. There's a punch bag and boxing gloves for exercising.
- A beautiful campfire area. We provide firewood from fallen trees for our guests to use for a barbecue or a cozy campfire.
- The outdoor area has dozens of Juçara palms, the açaí of the Atlantic Forest, which are currently under threat. There is also an orchard and vegetable garden. Depending on the season, guests can pick different fruits, teas, spices and native greens as well as having the opportunity to adventure in the harvesting and processing of the Juçara fruit to extract (and taste) the açaí pulp.
- With an attentive eye and discretion, there is the chance to observe countless species of forest animals, such as green-billed and black-billed toucans, black tufted marmosets, cotias, huge lizards, horned toads, blue jays, aracuãs, yellow woodpeckers, among many others.
- 1 parking space exclusive for Casa Juçara guests, inside the property.
Casa Juçara is located in the most private part of our large 2200 m² plot, which has two beautiful houses in the middle of nature. It is a true hidden treasure, which you will find after a surprisingly short walk from the parking area.
In addition to Casa Juçara (advertised here), there is also Casa Tucano (also advertised on AirBnB). The houses are well separated from each other, with an extensive native garden and barbecue area between them.
You may be the only guests on the property during your stay, and it may also happen that the other house is occupied, either by the owners or by other guests. You can guarantee exclusivity by booking both houses together (see our listings).
The shared spaces are the campfire area and the parking area.
There is 1 exclusive parking space for Casa Juçara inside the property. On the street, 20 meters away from the house, there is a parking area on a public road, where you can usually find spaces if you want to come with more cars. The neighborhood is quiet and safe.
Access to the property is via the main gate, which can be opened with a remote control, and the parking area is at the front of the plot, next to a red house (Casa Tucano).
A short walk through the gardens (50m) from the parking lot will take you to the hidden cabin in the woods.
